My lovely and talented wife and I decided that in lieu of the sure to be rained out performance of "Much Ado about Nothing" in the park, we would venture out to the opening weekend of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We forgot that our free passes don't work on opening weekend, so we decided to go see Batman Begins.

GOOD MOVIE!!!

Oh man, what a great flick... dark, yes... kinda scary at times, yes.... would I take my kid, probably not... but I don't have a kid YET...

Grant was right. This movie would have been great to show the youth group from a storyline perspective, but it would be hard to sell the parents of 13 year olds on going to see that dark of a movie with a church group. But for us grown-ups... GREAT FILM! The best of the batman movies by far.

So afterward, we are both still very awake and not tired of sitting yet so we decide to splurge and buy tickets for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I must admit, I was previously unfamiliar with the story. Sure I knew that Willy Wonka was in the movie, and he had a chocolate factory, but I had never seen the original movie or read the book. This movie was very good too, though. I have to say that immediately after Batman Begins, it was a little calm for me, but hillariously sarcastic and dark in true Tim Burton fashion.
Johnny Depp did an excellent job with making the character silly but creepy.

Speaking of Johnny Depp, they are doing two new Pirates of the Caribbean movies. WOOHOO!!!

Here is some info I found about it:

Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest Premise/Synopsis:
This time around, Johnny returns as Captain Jack Sparrow and is caught in yet another tangled web of supernatural intrigue. It turns out, Captain Jack owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, ruler of the ocean depths and captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. If Jack can't figure a crafty way out of this one, he'll be cursed to an afterlife of eternal servitude and damnation. And as if that weren't enough, Captain Jack's problems throw a huge wrench into the wedding plans of the blissful Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, who quickly find themselves thrust into Jack's misadventures.

So very cool. I can't wait!

Still can't reveal what i'm preoccupied with just yet. Looks like it will be next weekend before I can talk about it on here. Some of you already know what it is, but i'd appreciate it greatly if you'd keep it down until I write about it here! Thanks!
